Come to the Oak Park Education Foundation’s 7th annual Vex Robotics competition between Julian & Brooks students, who have been designing, building and programming their robots since October. The competition will take place at 9:00 am on Saturday, January 28 in the Julian gym, 416 S. Ridgeland in Oak Park. It’s a free, exciting event that you won’t want to miss!
During the Robotics competition, OPEF is also holding an Open House showcasing its art, science, architecture and engineering programs in the Julian Commons from 10-noon. It’s free and features hands-on projects for kids ages 5-12.
Come one, come all, and bring the kids! The gym will be filled with cheering onlookers. There will be a projection screen for great viewing, an emcee and DJ, food for sale, and hands-on projects for kids at the Open House.The event is sponsored by Aria Group Architects, Hoy Landscaping, It’s A Sign, and Starship Restaurant & Catering.
The Wednesday Journal is donating $5 of every $30 newspaper subscription to the Oak Park Education Foundation in December and January when you mention the Foundation. The Wednesday Journal is also giving the OPEF a donation for all renewals when their name is mentioned.
When you collect and turn in BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION SYMBOLS OUR PTO earns $$$….BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION SYMBOLS CAN BE FOUND on General Mills, Betty Crocker, El Paso, Pop Secret, Pillsbury, Bisquick, Ziploc and many more products. PLEASE COLLECT THESE BOX TOPS AND SEND THEM INTO SCHOOL. Each symbol turned into the school office is worth ten cents for Brooks PTO! The PTO can earn hundreds of dollars each year with this program.
